Introduction

This is the special part for the not very special stuff. Some things just don't change between the two jobs I chose, since they are very similar, so in this part I'll cover the costs that doesn't change, location, and college.

Jobs

For my Jobs I choose software programmer and hardware engineering, since I like making computer go beep bop. To be more precise I love the problem solving and creative aspects of it. You are basically handed a bunch of pieces and have to make a beautiful kingdom out of the pieces.

Software Programmer

Software Programmer is the more popular of the two jobs. Mostly because it's the thing we see first. We aren't looking at the circuits of the computer, but more so what the software engineer cooks up. Almost everything on a computer is made by a software engineer from the operating system (Windows, IOS, Android) to this very website and everything in-between. Software programmers often get the luxury of not having to deal with the hard stuff. Their job more relies on using a lot of tools that were built by others and making them do their bidding. Hardware Engineering

Without hardware engineers, software programmers would be nothing. These are the people that design the circuit boards that are in ever device. They often have to work at the lowest level possible at just logic gates. The pieces to the puzzle are just basic logic (and, or, xor). The job is a very mentally intensive one since you're building up from nothing. There are also very few tools available to assist.

College

In the slideshow this was a part I kind of just over looked and rushed to finish but here are a few more details. I want to go to University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB), since I went up to the city and found it to be beautiful and charming. The city is decently close allowing for trips back home. The college is also very reputable in Computer Science. The Cost of 25k was gathered as an out of state tuition which will most likely be lower than what I will pay since tuition isn't the only cost.

Location

Another important factor is location. For a long time I've been obsessed with New Zealand (even at one point hanging their flag). I find the islands charming, out of the way, and a natural wonder to the eye. It is also a decently stable country. The more specific place that the data is from is Christchurch and the Canterbury region. This area is on the southern island. Despite being a bigger land mass the southern Island holds less population. Christchurch has a population of around 300k and has been described as a city like a small town. I also included conversions for most steps of this project which are currently at around .59 USD in one NZD. With this established we can move on to the constant expenses.

Constant Expenses

Some Expenses I just took as constancies as finding data about them for each of the specific apartments and life styles of the two jobs was a bit more than I was willing to do. These are:

Utilities

These are billed weekly so there is a little math that I included in the slides but it's just cost * 4. The cost I found was from just a few that I saw online at 275 NZD (162 USD)

Health Insurance

This one was really easy, since New Zealand has universal health care so we can just count this category as 0 NZD (0 USD)

Food & Necessities

This one is I just kind of guessed on since life styles vary and I was not about to budget the amount by item. I just kind of eyeballed it at the nice round 1000 NZD (590 USD)

These Numbers will be accounted into the both of the budgets.
